Thank you God, for giving me direction
And for giving me hope
For throwing out the life-line
So that I can stay afloat
I know what it’s like to go under
To take on way too much and choke
I know what it’s like to put up a fight
And struggle to stay afloat
Sometimes I feel lost at sea
And it really does suck to be me
But, I’m just like that guy
In the movie “Life Of PI”
Battling to keep my own boat
So I swim for my life
Amidst all the strife
And I will stay afloat
Though down-pours and storms
Seem to be the norm
There are also bright rays
And sunny days
When I have faith that I can cope
Then I cast off my cares
And say Grace for my shares
For I am still afloat
So I’ll keep getting up and laying down
Until they put me in the ground
Let my tombstone read
That I lived life with speed
And that I didn’t sag or mope
But with all my breath
Up until my death
I helped others stay afloat
